Soft Tissue Modalities

Selectively Applied. Clinically Directed. Outcome-Focused.

Soft tissue plays a key role in how the body responds to care. Muscles, fascia, tendons, and connective tissue influence movement quality, neurological input, circulation, and recovery. For that reason, soft tissue modalities are not offered à la carte and are not applied routinely. Each technique is selected based on assessment, tissue response, and the specific outcome we are working toward-often in coordination with chiropractic adjustments and advanced laser therapy. Care is intentional. Application is selective. Results matter.

Therapeutic Stretching

Restoring Motion Without Forcing It
Targeted therapeutic stretching is used when mobility restrictions, muscle imbalance, or movement compensation are limiting progress. This approach focuses on improving joint mechanics and reducing unnecessary stress on the spine and extremities. Stretching is applied strategically to support longer-lasting adjustments and improved tissue response.

Mechanical Massage Therapy

Controlled Input. Consistent Tissue Response.
Mechanical massage uses specialized tools to apply consistent, controlled pressure to muscles and soft tissues. The goal is to increase blood flow, relax tight or overactive muscles, and help the body respond better to care, without being overly aggressive. At Thrive Chiropractic & Laser Clinic, we utilize two forms of mechanical massage based on what your body needs:
  • Percussive massage uses rapid, targeted pulses to loosen tight muscles, reduce soreness, and improve mobility.
  • High-frequency massage delivers gentle, steady vibration to calm muscle tension, improve circulation, and support recovery when tissues are sensitive or easily irritated.
Mechanical massage is often used to prepare muscles before treatment or to support recovery afterward. Because the pressure and rhythm are consistent, it’s especially helpful when tissues respond better to predictable input rather than hands-on variability.

Cupping Therapy

Decompression & Cellular Support Cupping
Cupping Therapy uses gentle suction to lift and decompress soft tissues, helping improve circulation, tissue hydration, and mobility. This therapy is selectively used for areas of chronic muscle tension, restricted movement, or increased recovery demands. Temporary skin discoloration may occur and is a normal, short-term response that typically resolves on its own.

Myofascial Release

Improving Tissue Integration
Fascial restrictions can interfere with movement, coordination, and comfort. Myofascial release focuses on restoring glide and elasticity within the connective tissue system so muscles and joints can function more efficiently together. This technique is applied when global tension patterns or movement inefficiencies are present.

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy (Graston)

Precision for Persistent Restrictions
Instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy allows for focused treatment of scar tissue, adhesions, and chronic soft tissue dysfunction. Depending on clinical presentation, this may be performed with a heated or non-heated device. This modality is often integrated alongside laser therapy to support tissue remodeling and improved load tolerance.

Care Directed by Assessment-Not Preference

Soft tissue modalities are selected based on how your body presents, how it responds, and what will most effectively move you toward your goals. You won’t be asked to choose from a list or upsold on unnecessary treatments. Every technique has a purpose. Every application has intent.
